A light touch on cookies

These keep the website working. They remember your session while you fill in the “Check Availability” form, protect the form from spam and misuse, and keep the private admin area secure.

Essential cookies can’t be switched off from within the site, because the site wouldn’t work without them. Blocking them in your browser may stop the enquiry form from submitting.

We may use privacy-friendly analytics to see how many people visit, which pages are read, and roughly where visitors come from. This is only ever looked at as anonymous totals — never to identify you personally.

Analytics help us improve the site, for example by knowing whether owners find the safety and transport information useful. If you would rather not be counted, you can block these cookies in your browser or use its “Do Not Track” setting.

Some cookies may be set by the services that help us run the website:

• Hosting and security providers, to serve pages quickly and safely.
• Our website and database platform, to store and load your enquiry securely.
• Analytics providers, as described above.

We don’t use advertising or retargeting cookies, and we don’t build profiles for advertisers.

Our Facebook and Instagram links are plain links — no tracking pixels or embedded feeds load in the background, so nothing is shared with those platforms while you simply browse this site.

If you follow one of those links, or if we add an embedded feed of the day’s walks in future, Facebook and Instagram will set their own cookies and their own privacy policies will apply.

You are always in control. In your browser settings you can:

• Block all cookies, or only third-party cookies.
• Delete cookies already stored on your device.
• Ask to be warned before a cookie is set.
• Browse in a private or incognito window, which clears cookies when you close it.

Clearing your cookies won’t delete any enquiry you’ve already sent, and it won’t affect your walks. It simply means the site starts fresh next time you visit.
